Collecting 101
Why is art important? Why should it be bought and collected? How do I evaluate a work of art and the potential of the artist? Collecting 101 is the perfect workshop for the new collector interested in starting or expanding his or her collection. Led by Olga Stefan, Director, Chicago Artists' Coalition

Democratic Principles Exhibition
Featuring 19 portraits by artist Elizabeth McClancy, this exhibition represents national leaders in ways that reveal, to the public as well as to the subjects themselves, the immense importance of the challenges they face and the leadership they assume, individually and collectively.

Around the Coyote Video Lounge
The Around the Coyote Video Lounge, curated by LiveBox, is a celebration of video as a seminal medium for artists today. The democratization of video art, through cheaper and faster production and wider dissemination through sites like YouTube, has fostered new and liberatory approaches to video as medium. As a result, there has actually been a rise in video artists across the country who are creating new video work that is driven by dynamic narrative and stunning visual content. Around the Coyote and LiveBox are excited to present such works in a video lounge format.

Around the Coyote is a non profit arts organization that supports, promotes and makes accessible Chicago's multidisciplinary arts community. Around the Coyote activities, which include exhibitions, artist residencies and education programs, enhance public discourse and provide creative outlets for emerging artists. LiveBox, a non-for profit space, utilizes Chicago and its neighborhoods as gallery, bringing new media art to the people of Chicago. LiveBox also seeks collaborative relationships with like-minded galleries and museums to create new media events. LiveBox has been curating film and video for Around the Coyote since 2007.
